EntryPoint

EntryPoint

EntryPoint is a cross-cultural mentoring program that connects international talents and Finland based professionals. Between 2016 and 2021, EntryPoint has been an essential part of all Talent Boost program activities and run by Helsinki Region Chamber of Commerce.

Warm thank you to all EntryPoint mentors and mentees!

What is next for EntryPoint?

City of Espoo will continue its development in summer 2021. If you would like to sign up for the next round as a mentee or mentor, please contact EntryPoint Program Coordinator, Marina Ponomareva at marina.ponomareva@espoo.fi.

During the Chamber Talent Boost project (August 2019 – June 2021) 3 rounds brought together 164 participants. Mentors have been Finland based professionals from various professional backgrounds, from business to academia. A mentee pool has been expanded to enhance the program diversity and inclusion: in addition to international students, applicants who had recently moved to Finland (e.g., international spouses) joined EntryPoint.

Although the main purpose of EntryPoint is not to offer employment to international talents, more than 40% of our mentees have found a job or internship during or after their participation in the program. And while mentoring benefits are usually more obvious from a mentee’s perspective, our mentors’ needs have been equally considered. For example, peer mentoring groups have been formed to empower people in their mentor roles and provide them with more networking opportunities. Last but not least, after the 2nd and 3rd rounds 30-40% of the mentors have returned to take part in the program at least one more time.
